Why Do People Buy Kinkaku-Ji Poster Art?

Kinkaku-Ji Poster Art presents this famous Buddhist temple from Kyoto. The translation of its name is the “Temple of the Golden Pavilion,“ and with one glance at the poster, you will understand the connection. The building has three floors, and gold leaf covers the outer walls of the pavilion’s top floors.

Throughout its long history, the temple first served as a villa and later was converted into a temple. In the middle of the 20th century, it was destroyed in a fire, but luckily was rebuilt several years later. Today, it is an important historic site and one of Kyoto’s most famous landmarks.
