Map of Albuquerque Streets and What Makes It Good
In 1706, the governor of Nuevo Mexico, Francisco Cuervo y Valdes, founded the city of Albuquerque and named it after the Viceroy of New Spain. Initially it was a trading and military post, while people worked primarily in the farming and shepherding businesses. While this Map of Albuquerque Streets shows today’s city layout, in the beginning, it only had a center built in a traditional Spanish pattern.
Today, Albuquerque honors its past with many preserved buildings and cultural centers, but it also offers exceptional entertainment and art events making it an excellent destination to visit.
