Manayunk is a neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a National Historic District and charming small town, located on the south bank of the Schuylkill River across from the Philadelphia city line. Originally referred to as the town of Flat Rock, the residents later named it from the Lenape Indian word for the Schuylkill River “manaiung” which literally translates to “place to drink.”
